LEARN TO DIVE
Spend 2 days in the pool, two days on the reef, then the rest of your life diving the reefs of the world.Our 4 day PADI open water course commences every day but Sunday, and returns you to the comfort of your hotel each night.

Tusa Dive have a selection of more than 15 outer reef locations where you will be amazed by the diversity of colourful marine life while you explore vast coral gardens, caverns, walls and isolated pinnacles.

PADI or SSI Referral Courses
For those who have already completed their PADI or SSI pool and theory, Tusa Dive offer the opportunity to complete their 4 training dives in 2 individual day trips.

CAIRNS DIVE CENTRE
OPEN WATER DIVE COURSE

This course provides you with the theoretical knowledge and the practical skill that you require to dive anywhere in the world.  Your professional instructor will help you through the learning process. Each new skill gets you closer to the day you board our boat for your liveaboard dive trip. Your open water dive course is split up into three sections:

Theory gives you the knowledge required to dive in open water conditions. This takes on the form of classroom presentations and lectures by your instructor in the comfort of our new air-conditioned classrooms. Confined Water Training takes place in our gas heated pool at our state of the art diver training centre, during which time you will master the skills of diving

Open Water Dives will be conducted from the safety of the Kangaroo Explorer – our modern liveaboard vessel. At Cairns Dive Centre, the emphasis is on increased training in actual dive conditions. The basis of our training concept is through practise of scuba skills in the controlled environment of our Diver Training Centre. These skills combined with the understanding of safe diving practices and theory, prepare you for the ultimate Great Barrier Reef experience.

DOWN UNDER DIVE
Down Under Dives professional instructors will provide attentive expert tuition on all Open Water and Advanced dive courses. Once you have successfully completed your chosen course you will be competent and internationally recognized as a PADI Scuba Diver

ITINERARY – 4 day open water dive course
DAY 1 medical checks and paperwork completed on site at 8am, before classroom and video sessions commence. Refund on day 1 applicable if you don’t pass medical/swimming check. Lunch break, then afternoon pool training session begins.
DAY 2 classroom and video sessions re-commence and small Exam completed. Lunch break, before finalising your skills in the training pool.
DAY 3 onboard Osprey V we travel to two fantastic dive sites on the Great Barrier Reef to conduct a series of tranining skills in the open water environment. 2 dives are completed.
DAY 4 onboard Osprey V we again travel to our dive sites for completion of your course. Once both dives and all paperwork has been completed, your instructor will present you with your Scuba Diving Licence
INCLUSIONS: BBQ lunch provided onboard vessel for Days 3 & 4. All equipment is included.
